구슬펜 has no accounts, no analytics and no server that keeps anything. Whatever you make and whatever you keep stays with you.
The website
The pen you thread and the lines you keep live in your browser’s localStorage, on this site only. They are never sent anywhere and we cannot read them. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The one network request the site can ever make is the feedback form: if you write something and press send, the text you typed and the email address you chose to give go to Web3Forms, which delivers them to conyleeyn@daum.net. Send nothing and nothing leaves the page.
The browser extension
The extension collects no user data. Whether the button appears is decided locally by reading the current selection; nothing is saved until you click the button. Nothing is sent anywhere. Kept lines go into chrome.storage.local on your own machine, and are mirrored into this site’s localStorage so they show up under Kept lines. Nothing is transmitted to the developer, nothing is sold, and nothing is used for any unrelated purpose. The bookmarklet and the userscript work the same way, except the line travels in the address bar of a new tab on this site.
The iPhone app
The app keeps its data on the device, and in your own iCloud if you have iCloud switched on. That is your iCloud, not ours — we run no server and have no access to it.
